“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” Matthew 6:33
Time after time i see how faithful Christians have received abundant blessings through their obedience and service to the Lord. Yet it is so easy for me to still be insecure about the faithfulness of God. Subconsciously there are doubts, there is a tendency to think of myself first before others, there is an instinct to hoard rather than give.
i must remind myself constantly with the testimonies of God’s faithfulness both then and now, that He will not let anyone who serves him faithfully be put to shame. He is a just God, a righteous God and one who is a great provider.
Lord, i confess that i allow doubt and selfishness to cloud my actions and thoughts. Help me to renew my mind and know that you are the great provider. And that as long as i serve you faithfully and seek your kingdom and your righteousness here on earth, all else will be taken care of by you.

“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” 1 Corinthains 9:25
There are those who are born with plenty but because of their lack of self-control, end up squandering away their wealth to others. Then there are those who although born with little, through self-control and training, learn to gain more than they ever imagined possible. In the worldly sense, we know strict training and self-control is necessary to attain and maintain worldly success.
Equally so, in spiritual success, we need to have self-control and discipline in training. Lack of training in spiritual matters make us weak and vulnerable to the evil one and his schemes. But we should put self-control and strict training in spiritual matters a first priority over worldly matters. After all, we are seeking a kingdom that will last forever, and not a kingdom that will only last as long as we physically live.
Father, i know this life is to prepare me for the next. Whatever i do now, i pray that i do it with a sense of eternity and the knowledge that eternity is what matters at the end of the day. Let me strive for the crown that will last forever and not the temporary crown of the world that is vain glory.
