Too deep for words

15 October 2014

Romans 8:25-27 “But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

There are times when it is hard to put into words the things we want to pray about. It’s just a bag of emotions, requests, thoughts and needs which are difficult to translate into a coherent prayer.

May the Holy Spirit who dwells in us also search our hearts and know it. May our groanings too deep for words be transformed into a prayer to our Almighty God and Father. And Father, may You hear and may You cause Your face to shine upon us.
