It is always politically and spiritually correct to be humble. Humility is quite rightly a virtue. But being humble doesn’t mean we are not proud of who we are. I must not make the mistake of neglecting the right to be proud of who i am as a child of God because this is rightfully something to be proud of.
I may boast in many things, but if i should boast at all, i should boast most in the fact that i am a child of God. That should be the overriding status that gives me security, joy and godly pride. I can walk with my head held high despite the fact that i may not be highly regarded by worldly standards – because i know i am a highly treasured child of God and bought by the priceless blood of Jesus Christ.
Lord God, if i may boast, let me boast in this; that i am a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Son of God and set aside as a holy priesthood, waiting for the arrival of the King and the ushering in of the new heavens and the new earth. Thank you Lord that you have shown me mercy and grace, for i had nothing to show for and everything to hide from. But now i can stand proud, a forgiven and renewed being and a friend of The Most High God.
