People like fantasy and fantasy is in every advertisement, film, novel and picture that we come across daily. Each of these conduits of fantasy spark off our thoughts and imagination. Unfortunately a lot of advertising, film, novels and pictures today do not conjure positive influence but actually provoke unhealthy fantasies and desires.

There is really no escape from any of these influences but we must be aware and keep every thought captive to Christ. Without keeping these fantasies and desires at bay, we cannot function properly or be able to keep a Christ like mind. Therefore scripture tells us to bring them all under the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit searches the mind of God and I believe can also search out our minds and if we allow him, the Holy Spirit will also bring and subject all evil fantasies and desires to the cross. There is power in thought and this is where the battle ground is.

But the above is just the defence, and we must also play the offence at the same time by filling our minds and thoughts with good things. If we have the disposition to fantasise and have desires strong enough to bring us into action, there is power in using this to produce godly results.

Philippians 4:8-9
The Message (MSG)
“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”
